Black Swan Arts Open 2014 opened today, December 6th.

My work, “Chasing Shadows” was selected as one of the exhibition showpiece.

This piece is Hand Woven Japanese paper yarn fabric with Origami folding.
I could create series of shadows with the folding.

As you may see, my work is rather unique in this exhibition.
I’m glad the judge panel regarded this piece as an art, set aside the hot discussion “What is Art? and What is Craft?”
Also I would be honored to be selected among more than 500 submissions.

The selectors have chosen over one hundred pieces for the Open Exhibition, from a record 547 submissions and we would like to thank all those who have entered. This national competition is in its 12th year and we have received a tremendous variety of works across a broad range of disciplines, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, print, photography, jewellery and animation.

  1. This looks wonderful in this UK gallery. The folds are so crisp and catch the light so well. Delighted to hear that it is selected for this exciting exhibition. I grew very fond of this when we were exhibiting together in Tokyo recently. Well done.
